Greetings. There are some concerns about Digital Promise, specifically the composition of its board. The Digital Promise organization, created through Section 802 of the federal Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, intends to receive money from Congress and is otherwise a public policy topic. What about a site where kids can type in their essays and get automated immediate rubric-based feedback about their writing style, use of conventions, and content relevance? Teachers would be expert scorers who would "tune" the engine over time and with more and more well-scored examples, the engine would give better and better advice to young writers. This idea is to create a human infrastructure that stands behind a large-scale game-challenge platform in every subject area. Each subject would have a small number of highly powerful games that students of a particular age might engage with each year - (e.g. in New South Wales, AUS there is an environment game that over 40,000 youth play each Fall, which concerns the country's ecological zones).
