Engaging Middle School Students to read

I know of a technology based curriculum for readng that works very well for both special ed students and regular ed students. It contains leveled text, video, voice etc... Spread school year to learn not forget

Spread the school year to four or five semesters. This raises attainment by avoiding the long summer of 'forgetting'. Learning is better delivered and reinforced and seen as a continuous process. We are long past the need for an educational timetable based on the 'agricultural calendar'.

Part of the prompt for Grand Challenges mentioned competitions as a way to come up with breakthrough technologies. They are also a way to come up innovative ways of using technologies.
